Tour Details

On this Athens full-day tour you’ll have the time to see 2 museums that you like as well as the monuments of the city. You will experience Greek hospitality and you will enjoy some traditional Greek food together with some shopping or strolling in the Plaka area.

Your private tour starts with Lycabettus hill, where you will be able to enjoy the breathtaking view of the city from 250 meters high. After taking some pictures we continue to see Queen Sofias Av. passing by some museums such as the War Museum, the Byzantine and the Cycladic art museum. Then we will pass by the ex-residence of Heinrich Schleeman who found Mycenae and Troy and we will stop to Athens trilogy for some pictures.

The Athens full-day tour continues to the Acropolis, a complex of buildings that includes the Parthenon (dedicated to Athena), the best example of classic architecture from the 5th-century BC, Erectheion (the temple with 6 female figures, Caryatides statues), the Temple of Athena Nike (Wingless Goddess), Propylaia (the entrance gate), Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Dionysus theater(the first theatre of the world) and finally, the Mars Hill or Areios Pagos (the first ancient court and the place that St. Paul preached Christianity for the first time in Athens).

The next stop will be the temple of Olympian Zeus(the largest in Greece), the Panathenaic Stadium(first Olympics), the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier and the Changing of the Guards (Euzones) in front of the Greek Parliament, the Agora with its fabulous museum(center of the city and marketplace).

Later on, we will stop at the Plaka area for strolling and shopping as well as lunch in a Greek restaurant(free time). Then we will see Monastiraki and Athinas street. You can always choose to visit the National Archaeological Museum or the Acropolis Museum during the tour or to change the itinerary. Finally, we will drive you back to your hotel or ship.
