On this Athens 6 hours shore excursion that was designed especially for cruise travelers from Port of Piraeus you’ll have time to experience Greek hospitality, marvel at the ancient monuments of the Acropolis, enjoy some traditional Greek food, and do some shopping. If time permits, you can also do a walking tour at Plaka.
Visit the majestic Acropolis and its ancient monuments, including the Propylaea, the Erechtheion, the reconstructed temple of Athena Nike, and of course the Parthenon, which was dedicated to Goddess Athena. This archaeological site is the highlight of this private tour.

Explore the new Acropolis Museum, which is said to be the world’s 5th-best museum. Stop to have a cup of coffee as you take in the Acropolis views.
See the ruins of the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch, which in ancient times was the largest temple in Greece and had 110 columns, each one 17 meters high. Visit the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympics were held in 1896. Today it is used for the Athens classical Marathon and for the ceremony of the Olympic flame.
Go on a bit of a run inside the stadium, following in the footsteps of marathon runners, and find the seat of Pierre de Coubertin, the father of the modern Olympic Games who worked together with George Vikelas in order to organize the modern Olympics.
Take in the views of Athens from the Lycabettus hill(267 meters high) and watch the changing of the Royal Guards at the Parliament. After Syntagma Square, we pass by the Presidential Palace and the Prime Minister’s house.
Heading to the modern part of the city, you will admire Neoclassical buildings such as Athens University, the Numismatic Museum, the National Library, the Cycladic Museum, and the Byzantine Museum which contains 25.000 artifacts inside.
