In the vicinity of the temple of Artemis, there is the haunt of Dionysus, the patron saint of wine in mythology who is believed to have taught Ikarius how to make wine 3000 years ago. This ancient method of wine production has been maintained and the vines have been lovingly cared for.
Because of the cult of Dionysus, theatre started in Athens.
Attica Climate- Athens Wine Tour
In Attica, the vine played a leading role from ancient times in the economic, cultural, and social for the Athenians. In the last decades, the area of Mesogaia has changed because many people and industries have moved to these areas. Farm areas have been reduced dramatically, but still, there is significant wine production in these areas.
The Attica climate is characterized by a wide variety of their composition and a low concentration of organic matter. High temperatures during the summer months and mild winters, the beneficial presence of the sea breeze that embraces the area, contribute along with cool winds from the mountains to the vineyard’s survival.
After your authentic experience of the Athens wine tour, we will drive you back to your hotel. We usually take the coastline in order to see the Athenian Riviera as well, passing by beautiful suburbs such as Glyfada and Voula.
